Once again, Everett will have a hyper-local radio station featuring your favorite songs from the greatest artists of all time like The Eagles, The Beatles, Elton John, and Fleetwood Mac along with continued coverage of the Everett Silvertips, Everett AquaSox and local prep sports, traffic, weather with an emphasis on serving the local community and its organizations and residents.

From one leader of the community to another, Tulalip Resort Casino supported this launch by becoming the station’s founding advertiser. KRKO’s new format provided the perfect opportunity to celebrate a momentous occasion with a media institution that has served Everett and the surrounding cities for decades.

“Most Radio stations around the country are owned by huge corporations whose decisions are made nationally, not locally. The change from National Fox Sports network programming to a music format, is custom designed to meet the musical appetites of local listeners, with a strong focus on information and activities of importance and interest in the greater Snohomish County area. Being locally owned allows us to make decisions that better serve the listeners and businesses in our community,” states Chuck Maylin, General Manager.

KRKO and sister station KKXA 1520AM, are among the last locally owned and operated Radio stations in Western Washington, each broadcasting with 50,000 watts of power on AM and in Everett on local FM signals 95.3 & 101.1.
